Our Future
Auntie Vals Ability Centre plan for the future is to build a Community Hub for people with disabilities to use as well as service providers such as therapists to use and hold clinics.
The new building will also have a meeting room available for groups to hire. We will retain the manufacturing side of Auntie Val’s Ability Centre and continue to provide educational and skills-based training. We will also have a café that will do morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea.
One of our big aims is to promote Our International Ability Campaign to encourage employers to give disabled people a better life by providing work experience for a few hours a week. By joining this campaign employers can show the world that they have an active corporate social responsibility program proving that discrimination is not permitted in their company.
Despite the difficulties of the Covid pandemic Auntie Val’s Ability Centre has managed to keep going with the help of local outlets. We have just grown into a third building housing a purposely designed training room equipped with computers, projector, printer and training materials. A large store room, offices, and a staff kitchen. The next phase is to look into the future and start raising funds for our Auntie Val’s Ability Centre Community Hub.
